After the flash flood, many agencies in Ky Son still cannot resume operations.
(Baonghean.vn) - The flash flood that occurred on the morning of October 2nd caused many agencies and public buildings in Ky Son district to be covered with mud. Although more than 20 days have passed, some agencies have not yet overcome the consequences to welcome staff back to work.
Observations at some buildings that are the offices of the District Political Center, the District Agricultural Service Center and the collective housing area of the District People's Committee officials showed that although the amount of mud and soil had been basically cleared, many furniture, documents, windows and main doors were completely damaged; nothing was left in each room.

Mr. Lu Quang Hung - Head of Propaganda Department, Director of Political CenterKy Son districtsaid: The flash flood caused damage to all the property including tables, chairs, computers, cabinets... of the rooms on the first floor. With the help of the forces, the amount of mud and soil was cleared after 15 days, but it is not possible to return to work because the electrical system is damaged and there is no equipment to serve the staff.

“The current work is that the brothers in the unit use water to wash away the mud on the walls and floors. Then, they replace the electrical system on the first floor and purchase all the equipment such as tables, chairs, cabinets, computers, etc. to serve the work. Therefore, it is expected that by the end of October, the brothers will be able to return to the office to work normally. However, in the past time, all the staff of the unit have temporarily fixed up work on the second floor.” - Mr. Lu Quang Hung shared.

The Ky Son District Agricultural Service Center was also severely damaged in the recent flash flood. Observations showed that all the rooms on the first floor were empty after all the mud had been cleared. Mr. Ngan Van Thao - Director of the Center said that due to the flood water and mud rising up to nearly 2m, all the working assets of the collective and individuals on the first floor were completely buried. To maintain the agency's operations, the Center arranged a second facility for the staff to work, but there were many shortages.

“Currently, all members of the unit continue to clean up and fix whatever they can. However, the exact date of return to work is unknown, because we still have to wait for the purchase of equipment and repair of some damaged items,” said Mr. Ngan Van Thao.

Mr. Tho Ba Re - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son district said: In the flash flood that occurred on the morning of October 2, many agencies and units of the district were affected, of which some agencies suffered heavy damage: Political Center, Agricultural Service Center, District People's Committee Office, Fatherland Front and other organizations, Civil Judgment Enforcement Office, District Party Committee, District People's Committee. The flood completely collapsed the office building of Ta Ca Commune Police.
However, after 4-5 days, with the help of the forces, some agencies and units: the Fatherland Front and organizations; the Civil Judgment Enforcement Office, the District Party Committee, and the District People's Committee have returned to normal work. Some agencies such as the District Political Center, the District Agricultural Service Center, and the District People's Committee's office building have not been able to resume operations for 22 days, due to too much damage to the public and personal assets of officials, civil servants, and public employees.

“Although agencies and units suffered heavy damage, cadres, civil servants and public employees are still assigned temporary workplaces to maintain the agency’s operations. The biggest difficulty now is the lack of equipment and other supplies. Agencies and units continue to mobilize human resources to continue cleaning up, gradually overcoming the damage to soon return to normal operations,” Mr. Tho Ba Re shared.
According to statistics from Ky Son district, the flash flood that occurred on the morning of October 2 completely collapsed 55 houses; 141 houses were flooded, eroded, and severely damaged. The flood swept away 2 cars of the people, submerged 10 cars, swept away 2 motorbikes, buried 91 motorbikes and 24 bicycles; swept away and completely damaged 110 televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, gas stoves, computers and many other materials.
