Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 2124/QD-UBND approving the Strategy for sustainable development of education and training in Nghe An to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
The strategy aims to sustainably develop Nghe An education and training with a reasonable scale, qualified teaching staff, facilities, appropriate policies and mechanisms, and leading education and training quality in the North Central region, among the top in the country.
On that basis, training a team of human resources to ensure quality and learners' capacity to meet the requirements of national development, international integration and the 4.0 industrial revolution. Nghe An also strives to become the education and training center of the North Central region and the whole country by 2045.

Also in the education strategy to 2030, vision 2045, Nghe An sets out many specific goals such as by 2030, at least 80% of schools will meet national standards, 20% of kindergartens and primary schools will be built autonomously and advancedly following the international integration trend... Nghe An strives to have at least one international high school by 2030, and Nghe An University will be ranked in the international region.
To achieve the above objectives, Nghe An has proposed breakthrough development tasks and solutions. In particular, to focus investment resources and ensure conditions for sustainable development of education and training, Nghe An will develop appropriate educational policies, mechanisms and strategies to mobilize maximum resources.
The province will also develop a development plan for each stage to meet the requirements of economic and social development and the learning needs of the people.
Notably, the province will also restructure universities and colleges in the province towards streamlining, multi-disciplinary, multi-professional, standardized, modern and integrated. Ensuring the development roadmap. Accordingly, in the 2022-2023 school year, Nghe An University of Economics, Nghe An College of Education, Nghe An College of Culture and Arts will be merged and renamed Nghe An University.
By 2025, restructure universities and colleges in the province into Nghe An University; by 2030, develop towards regional and international standardization; by 2045, Nghe An becomes a training center of the North Central region and the whole country.
In the coming years, the merger of schools in the province will continue to be implemented to reduce 23-25 schools, 35-65 school locations and reduce 50-70% of combined classes; build advanced kindergartens and general schools, prioritize the construction of boarding schools for ethnic minorities, and pilot the implementation of boarding high schools in mountainous districts.
