(Baonghean.vn) - Sharing the hardships and deprivation of the Thai ethnic people in the two villages of O O and Gia Hop, Tuong Son commune (Anh Son), 60 Youth Volunteers (YV) have implemented the program "Lighting up the countryside and giving free haircuts".

After traveling dozens of kilometers from the center of Tuong Son commune (Anh Son), through many winding passes, in the scorching summer sun, the Youth Union finally arrived at O O and Gia Hop villages.

The delegation includes the Student Volunteer Team (SVTN) of Foreign Trade University (Hanoi) and the Youth Union members of Tuong Son commune.

“O O and Gia Hop are two ethnic minority villages, located far from the center, with a low standard of living. Therefore, on this occasion, we pay special attention and help, contributing to improving the spiritual life of the people here,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, Secretary of the Youth Union of Tuong Son commune.

The two villages have a total of more than 160 households, and their daily income mainly comes from the limited amount of fertile land and rice fields, which cannot meet the needs of cultivation. Many people have to go far away to work, while the rest find seasonal jobs such as harvesting corn, rice, and acacia, or weeding, construction work, etc. Children’s education also faces many difficulties, and most of the children who finish secondary school have to stop to earn a living.
