Pedagogy students are given credit loans to pay tuition fees.
Instead of exempting tuition fees for teacher training students, the draft Law amending a number of articles of the Education Law stipulates credit loans for students.
On May 29, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha, authorized by the Prime Minister, presented the Draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Education to the National Assembly.
According to the draft, students of pedagogy can borrow credit to pay tuition and living expenses during the entire course; enjoy scholarship policies to encourage learning, tuition exemption and reduction, and social subsidies.
After graduation, if they work in the education sector for a sufficient period of time as prescribed, teachers will not have to repay the pedagogical credit loan. The Government specifically regulates the pedagogical credit regime and the reimbursement policy for pedagogical students..

The regulation on credit loans for pedagogical students is a new addition compared to the draft published in November 2017. According to current regulations, pedagogical students will be exempted from tuition fees for the entire course.
Examining the bill, the majority of members of the Committee on Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children agreed with the above amendment because it both demonstrates the priority policy for those working in the education sector and avoids wasting the state budget. However, the Committee proposed to study how to organize the implementation of loans so that students can access the best policies, and at the same time add regulations on refunds for those who pay tuition fees themselves.
