Exciting 2017 Vietnam Journalists Association Cup Table Tennis Tournament

(Baonghean.vn) - This morning (September 7), the 11th Vietnam Journalists Association Cup Table Tennis Tournament - 2017, organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and the Hanoi Journalists Association, officially opened. In which, 3 athletes from the Nghe An Journalists Association participated.

This year’s tournament attracted the participation of 164 athletes who are leaders of press agencies, leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association, journalists, members of the Vietnam Journalists Association, officials and employees of 39 press agencies and journalists’ associations at all levels. The athletes will compete in 11 events, in which each athlete can participate in a maximum of three events.

Mr. Ho Quang Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Head of the tournament's organizing committee said: The important meaning of the tournament does not lie in the achievements but in arousing the passion for sports, improving health as well as strengthening solidarity and camaraderie among journalists nationwide. From there, it creates motivation to help journalists have more love for their profession, strive to fulfill well the political tasks and responsibilities of journalism to society.

“In particular, with the athletes strongly promoting the spirit of solidarity, competing honestly, demonstrating a noble spirit, dedicating to the audience good, attractive, high-quality matches, creating a cultural feature in sports, selecting excellent teams and athletes to receive the championship cup and medals of the tournament”, Mr. Ho Quang Loi emphasized in his opening speech of the tournament.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the matches took place excitingly and attractively in an atmosphere of solidarity and exchange between athletes.

The 11th Vietnam Journalists Association Cup Table Tennis Tournament - 2017 took place from September 7 to 9 at Trinh Hoai Duc Gymnasium (Hanoi).

This afternoon, September 7, athlete Nguyen Van Truong (Nghe An Newspaper) won the men's singles against player Pham Van Thanh of Khanh Hoa Journalists Association to enter the second round. Continuing on the morning of September 8, 2 athletes of Nghe An Journalists Association, Tran Hoang Vinh and Bao Ngoc, will have their first singles match.
