"The Righteous Power of the East Sea"

Surpassing more than 12,000 photos by more than 1,200 authors nationwide, "The Power of Justice in the East Sea" by author Nguyen Dang Khoa (reporter of Nhan Dan newspaper) received first prize in the contest "Proudly marching under the Party's flag" in 2015.

The contest was organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. The contest was launched among all levels of the Youth Union, Youth Union officials, Youth Union members, and youth nationwide from May 5 to November 10. The theme is press photos, news photos, reports, documents, and reports on youth activities to celebrate Party Congresses at all levels.

After nearly seven months of launching, the contest attracted 12,285 photos from 1,226 authors from provincial and municipal youth unions, affiliated youth unions; university and college students; youth unions at enterprises and other administrative agencies across the country.

From the 100 best works by 38 authors, the organizing committee awarded first prize to the work “The Power of Justice in the East Sea” by author Nguyen Dang Khoa, working at the Photo Department, Nhan Dan Newspaper. Second prize went to the work “Happy Summer Study” by author Duong Ngoc Van Khanh, Tra Vinh University, Tra Vinh Province; third prize went to the work “Remembering the Heroes and Martyrs Who Sacrificed at Pier 914 Con Dao” by author Nguyen Tu Quy, Youth Cultural House of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province. The organizing committee also awarded three consolation prizes and one movement prize.

Photos submitted to the contest will have their shooting locations geotagged to create a photo map of Vietnam on the contest website, and at the same time create a photo database of youth activities across the country.
