On May 2, Doctor Ho Phu Hai - Ky Son District General Hospital said that he performed surgery to remove 2 live leeches from the noses of 2 patients in Keng Du and Muong Tip communes.

Upon examination, a leech was found living in the patient’s nose. “Fortunately, this leech had only just entered the patient’s nose and was easy to remove. There are many cases where leeches suck a lot of blood and have difficulty surviving for months,” said Dr. Hai.
