A 3rd grade boy tragically drowned while bathing in the river.
(Baonghean.vn) - Upon receiving news that a child had drowned, people in Quynh Thanh commune, Quynh Luu district (Nghe An) used nets to search for him, but all efforts were too late.
On April 14, Mr. Tran Van Trung - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Thanh Commune, Quynh Luu District confirmed that a tragic drowning incident had just occurred in the area. The victim was identified as a 3rd grade boy.
Initial information, at noon that day because of the school holiday, the boy and his friends went swimming in the river in hamlet 14, Quynh Thanh commune. Because the river was full and he was unfamiliar with the terrain, he slipped and drowned. Seeing his friend struggling in the river, his friends called for help from people living nearby.
People used fishing nets to search for the child. But when they pulled him out, it was too late. According to local authorities, the victim’s situation was very difficult. The child was orphaned, lived with his mother, and his family was in difficult circumstances.
It is known that there was also a drowning incident on this river last summer.
