Strengthening supervision of response to voters' petitions by functional agencies

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 18, under the chairmanship of comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held a regular meeting to evaluate activities in January, deploy key tasks in February; listen to and give opinions on the 2017 supervision program; report on the results of activities of the delegation and Provincial People's Council delegates in 2016.

In 2016, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council closely followed the program and work plan for the month and concluded at the regular meeting in December 2016 to implement and ensure the quality and progress set forth. In particular, it directed the organization of activities summarizing the work of the agency to ensure time, in accordance with regulations and instructions.

The resolution of issues arising between the two sessions ensured quality, efficiency, and compliance with procedures and time. Based on the audit report of the Economic - Budget Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council promptly and in accordance with legal regulations handled 02 issues: approving the investment policy to build the office building of the Fire and Rescue Police Department No. 4 in Quynh Giang; Quynh Luu; adjusting the scope of the traffic project connecting National Highway 46 with Provincial Road 542B in Hung Thinh Commune and Le Xuan Dao Street in Hung Thong Commune, Hung Nguyen.

Attention has been paid to the work of receiving citizens and handling complaints and denunciations. The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council has assigned 21 People's Council delegates to periodically receive citizens in January 2017 in districts, cities and towns. 9/9 complaints, denunciations, recommendations and reflections from citizens were received and processed.

In February 2017, the monitoring program of the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee focused on two contents: Monitoring the implementation results of a number of basic construction investment projects in the province; the settlement of voters' petitions by competent state agencies. The Provincial People's Council monitored the implementation of the sustainable poverty reduction target program in the province for the period 2012-2016.

In addition, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council focused on directing the Provincial People's Council committees to develop plans to supervise issues related to the implementation of a number of policies on cadres, civil servants and public employees of ethnic minorities in the province; policies and regimes for sports activities in the province; autonomy mechanisms in public service units; supervision of compensation, site clearance and resettlement of the Mong village hydropower plant...

Effectively handle issues arising between the two sessions of the Provincial People's Council as submitted by the Provincial People's Committee; Focus on directing and managing the time and location of the 2017 thematic supervision program of the Provincial People's Council, the Standing Committee, and the Provincial People's Council committees; monitor the implementation of recommendations after supervision and survey and the implementation of the conclusion of the questioning at the 3rd session of the 17th Provincial People's Council.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Council committees in performing the tasks in January.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council also noted: The Provincial People's Council committees need to coordinate monitoring and survey activities appropriately, avoid overlap, ensure science and efficiency; minimize problems arising between the two sessions; urge the activities of receiving citizens, handling complaints and denunciations of citizens, especially the task of receiving citizens in districts, cities and towns of the Provincial People's Council delegates; pay attention to classifying voters' opinions and transferring them to competent authorities for timely responses in accordance with regulations; strengthen monitoring and supervision of the response to voters' petitions by functional agencies and departments./.
