Strengthening traffic control on Pham Hong Thai Street
(Baonghean.vn)- While waiting for funding to upgrade Pham Hong Thai Street, Vinh City has directed authorities to increase patrols and control of vehicles traveling on this route.
» Vinh City: People complain because the road is full of potholes
Nghe An Newspaper on August 4, 2017 had an article "People cry out because the road is full of potholes" reflecting: Pham Hong Thai Street, Vinh Tan Ward is seriously degraded and damaged partly because of the high traffic density, no drainage ditches, so the road is weak and the road surface is narrow.
After the newspaper reported, on September 22, 2017, Vinh City People's Committee issued Official Letter No. 5753/UBND-QLDT in response as follows: Regarding the issue raised by the newspaper, Vinh Tan ward leaders have repeatedly sent official letters requesting Vinh City to complete the road. If there are no conditions to pour concrete, the potholes must be patched so that people can travel.
In addition, it is recommended that the authorities take action soon, ban overloaded vehicles that affect the road as well as ensure traffic safety for people.

In 2015, Vinh City People's Committee assigned Vinh Urban Infrastructure Management Joint Stock Company to organize the maintenance and repair of Pham Hong Thai Street. However, due to the high traffic density, the current status of Pham Hong Thai Street has no drainage ditch, so currently, many sections of this road have been damaged and degraded as reported by Nghe An Newspaper.
Due to limited capital resources for the maintenance and repair of the traffic system, and Pham Hong Thai Street having been repaired in 2015, in 2017, the City will prioritize the maintenance and repair of other main and important roads first.
On June 29, 2017, Vinh City People's Committee issued Decision No. 4028/QD - UBND on approving the investment policy for the construction of Pham Hong Thai Street (section from the intersection of Highway 8B to Vinh City bypass).
Currently, Vinh Investment and Construction Project Management Board is conducting survey and design.
The document also affirmed: During the time the project has not been implemented, the Vinh City People's Committee assigned the Vinh City Police to coordinate with the Traffic Inspectorate to strengthen patrols, control, and strictly detect and handle cases of trucks speeding and carrying overloaded goods on this route./.
