Strengthening coordination between Nghe An and Xieng Khouang Veterans Associations

On the afternoon of June 27, in Cua Lo Town, the signing ceremony of the cooperation program between the Nghe An Veterans Association and the Xieng Khouang Veterans Association (Laos) took place. Major General Nguyen Dinh Minh - Chairman of the Nghe An Veterans Association and Lieutenant Colonel Xeng Phet Seng Da La - Acting Chairman of the Xieng Khouang Veterans Association co-chaired the ceremony.

At the ceremony, the two sides exchanged information on the organization, experience in activities and the role of veterans in the new situation of each country. The two sides said that in the past time, the Memorandum of Understanding signed on November 7, 2016 in Xieng Khouang has been basically implemented well. Especially the propaganda and education work among veterans and the special relationship between Nghe An and Xieng Khouang in particular, Vietnam and Laos in general.

Regarding the future direction, the two sides agreed to continue to closely coordinate in propaganda and education, making the cadres and members of the two associations always preserve and foster the tradition of special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in general and the two provinces in particular.

At the same time, continue to coordinate well to grasp the situation, exchange information between the two associations, especially information sources on the search for the remains of martyrs who are volunteer soldiers and Vietnamese experts who died in Laos. The Veterans Associations of the two provinces, especially the districts sharing the border, regularly exchange experiences in construction, production labor activities, and effective economic models.

During the ceremony, the Veterans Associations of the two provinces also said that in the coming time, they will continue to direct the Veterans Associations of the border districts to strengthen the work of grasping the situation, advising local authorities, coordinating propaganda, participating in the work of protecting social order and political security along the border. Fighting to defeat the divisive and destructive plots of hostile forces, building a peaceful, friendly and developed border.

The signing of the cooperation program was one of the activities taking place during the visit and working session of the Xieng Khouang Veterans Association in Nghe An from June 26 to 29. Before that, the delegation also offered incense and flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House at Kim Lien Relic Site, and visited some economic models of veterans.
