Strengthening prevention and control of violations of firecrackers and traffic safety during Tet
(Baonghean.vn) - Provincial police leaders requested to resolutely prevent illegal fireworks from being set off, prevent traffic jams, and ensure smooth and convenient travel for people.
On the morning of January 5, Nghe An Provincial Police held a conference to strengthen the work of ensuring order, traffic safety and preventing violations related to fireworks during the 2018 Lunar New Year.
Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, Nghe An Provincial Police have deployed phase 1 of the plan to prevent and combat violations of firecrackers and to ensure order and traffic safety before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2018.

In the field of firecracker prevention and control, the Provincial Police have directed the Police of units and localities to propagate to people in communes, wards, towns, schools, key areas, and mobilize the collection of firecrackers....
From October 1, 2017 to January 1, 2018, the police of various units and localities discovered and arrested 183 cases, 216 subjects illegally producing, trading, transporting, storing, and using fireworks, confiscating nearly 3 tons of various types of fireworks, and mobilizing people to voluntarily hand over 32.3 kg of fireworks.
To ensure order and traffic safety, the Traffic Police force organized thousands of patrols, controlled and handled violations, collecting fines of more than 4 billion VND. The Waterway Police force discovered and arrested illegal miners, confiscating 190 m3 of sand and gravel.
At the same time, the Traffic Police force coordinated with the Vietnam Railway Authority and the Police of districts and cities to ensure railway traffic safety and ensure conditions to serve the travel needs of the people.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Hai - Deputy Director of Nghe An Provincial Police emphasized that in order for people to enjoy the 2018 New Year, Nghe An Provincial Police force will continue to strengthen the work of ensuring security and order, traffic safety and preventing violations related to fireworks; resolutely not allowing illegal fireworks to occur.
In addition, maintain command and traffic control forces at intersections and complicated traffic safety hotspots to prevent congestion and ensure smooth and convenient travel for people.
At the conference, leaders of the Public Security of units and localities signed a commitment to carry out tasks and solutions to strengthen the work of ensuring order, traffic safety and preventing and combating violations related to fireworks during the 2018 Lunar New Year.
