Early this morning (September 10), Brigade 249, Engineering Corps (Ministry of National Defense) marched to Huong Non commune, Tam Nong district (Phu Tho) to deploy a pontoon bridge across the Red River.

The installation of a pontoon bridge here is to serve temporary traffic for the people, after Phong Chau bridge collapsed yesterday morning (September 9).

Colonel Do Huu Tiem - Political Commissar of Brigade 249 said that after receiving orders from superiors, at around 3am this morning, 200 officers, soldiers and equipment arrived at Huong Non commune. However, after surveying, it was found that the flood water on the Red River was rising, the water flow rate was large, twice the technical standards of the buoys, so the installation of the pontoon bridge could not be carried out.
