Nghe An fishing boat caught fire at night just returning from Hoang Sa

At the scene of the fishing boat fire, early this morning (July 16), the entire crew on the fishing boat NA 90614 TS were gathering to deal with the consequences. Two fishing boats from Quynh Nghia commune were also present at the scene to help the fishermen salvage some of the remaining machinery and equipment after the fire.

"All last night, 10 crew members on the ship were present at the scene to put out the fire, however the fire was huge, all the crew members and fishermen in Tien Thuy commune provided timely support but still could not save it. The fire burned down the entire cabin of the ship, causing huge damage" - fisherman Ho Van Nghia - owner of fishing boat NA 90614 TS in Quynh Nghia commune, Quynh Luu

The burnt ship was newly built and put into operation in 2014 with a total cost of over 7 billion VND. The ship has a capacity of over 400 CV and specializes in fishing with 4 poles; there are about 10 crew members on board participating in seafood fishing.

Before the incident, fishing boat NA90614 TS had just returned from Hoang Sa for 2 days and anchored at Duc Xuan fishing port, Tien Thuy commune for repair and maintenance. Near dusk, the crew members were taking advantage of the opportunity to go home for dinner when the boat suddenly caught fire.

It is known that the burnt ship is still under insurance and the damage support value is about 50% of the total value of the ship.
