(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 17, the Steering Committee for the General Census of Rural, Agricultural and Fishery of Nghe An province opened a conference to deploy and train on the 2016 General Census of Rural, Agricultural and Fishery.

Attending the conference were Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for the General Census; members of the Steering Committee for the General Census: General Statistics Office, Department of Agriculture, Planning and Investment; Natural Resources and Environment; Information and Communications; leaders of districts and cities.
The 2016 Rural, Agricultural and Fishery Census aims to meet three main purposes: Assess the current situation, analyze changing trends, develop plans and strategies for agricultural and rural development and improve rural living standards; Evaluate the results of implementing some contents of national target programs on industrialization, modernization of agriculture, rural areas and new rural construction; Build a database on agriculture and rural areas to serve in-depth research and serve as a sample frame for some annual periodic surveys and other statistical requirements.
The 2016 Rural, Agricultural and Fishery Census in the province was large-scale, with nearly 700,000 households, 6,000 survey areas, nearly 500 farms, 431 communes and 2,169 sample households. The survey was conducted from July 1 to July 30.

The training conference was implemented in 4 days (from May 17 to 20), the reporters were instructed by the General Statistics Office on the following contents: Introduction to the 2016 General Census plan; instructions on how to record, check and summarize types of forms; introduction to some information collection processes of investigators and checking team leaders; instructions on how to quickly summarize data, inspection work, investigation costs applied in the general census; practice interviews, how to record forms in the area and do test exercises; document acceptance and handover process...
Speaking at the conference, comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Census Steering Committee, emphasized: This is a large-scale rural, agricultural and fishery census, carried out in a short time, so it is recommended that sectors and localities implement it seriously, urgently and accurately. It is recommended that sectors and sectors closely follow the target program; do a good job of preparing documents and selecting investigators; and that steering committees at all levels do a good job of propaganda on mass media systems.
