Thanh Chuong starts sowing rice for summer-autumn production

These days, in the fields, Thanh Chuong people are plowing, sowing rice, preparing for the summer-autumn crop. According to the summer-autumn crop plan this year, Thanh Chuong district will plant 5,000 hectares of pure and hybrid rice.

To ensure safety, the district directed to only arrange summer-autumn rice on areas with available water, fully exploit water resources on dams, convert high-yield rice areas at the end of the canal to growing other crops (prioritizing bean growing); proactively prevent drought and pests to ensure high productivity.

To facilitate pest management, Thanh Chuong directed localities not to structure many types of rice varieties in one field, but to only plant 1 to 2 varieties with the same growth period.

With the guiding ideology of making the most of time, planting seedlings before spring rice harvest, then plowing and planting as spring rice harvest, people have now started sowing seedlings, striving to sow all kinds of seeds by May 25.

Along with sowing, the agricultural service sector has prepared adequate sources of fertilizers, pesticides, etc.; in which fertilizers are provided on loan and deferred payment. The Irrigation Company and localities have also carried out dredging of canals, repairing dams and pumping stations to combat drought, best serving summer-autumn production.
