On the night of September 28, Thanh Chuong district's functional forces stayed up all night at key locations to help people evacuate and direct flood response.

Heavy rain during the day and night of September 28 caused many communes in Thanh Chuong district to be deeply flooded. On the morning of September 29, some residential areas in communes such as Thanh Duc, Thanh Tung, Thanh Ha, Thanh Xuan... were isolated.

Mr. Phan Van Dung - Chairman of Thanh Tung Commune People's Committee said that since last night, some residential areas in hamlets 1 and 2 have been deeply flooded. This morning, they have been completely cut off. The commune's functional forces are present at deeply flooded areas, ready to evacuate people from the flood.

In Thanh Ha commune, Mr. Dang Huu Bien - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said that many hamlets in the commune have been completely isolated, people who want to move out have to go by boat. "Currently, the hamlets are deeply submerged in flood water; the water is rising, isolating all roads. To move to the center, you have to go by boat. Last night, forces such as militia, police... stayed up all night, clearing fallen trees to ensure the safety of the people", Mr. Bien said.

For areas with deep flooding and severe landslides, we will set up barriers and put up signs prohibiting passage."

In Thanh My commune, on the night of September 28, heavy rain caused severe flooding. Entire hamlets were deeply submerged in water; many households had water entering their houses, rising 2-3m, forcing people to evacuate to the commune People's Committee headquarters, medical stations, and schools. Currently, the district has sent working groups to key points to inspect, direct, and coordinate with local authorities to overcome landslides and mountain landslides. At the same time, grasp the actual situation to have flexible and timely plans to ensure the safety of people's lives and property when the storm circulation is causing heavy rain in the area.

In Ngoc Son commune, the leader of the commune People's Committee said that at 3:30 a.m. on September 29, Nguyen Huu Hoang, born in 1983, residing in Lam Hong hamlet, was swept away while fishing. The authorities are searching for him but have not yet found any results. Given the complicated developments of the floods, since September 28, Thanh Chuong district has activated the Flood and Storm Prevention and Control Command from the district to the grassroots level, postponed all meetings, and requested communes and sectors to proactively develop prevention plans according to the "4 on-site" motto. Assign forces to be on duty at key points to ensure absolute safety for the people.

According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district, by 9:00 a.m. on September 29, the entire district had 509 flooded houses, 2 schools in Thanh Ngoc and Thanh Nho were deeply flooded, 5 houses had landslides, 1 house collapsed, nearly 500 meters of fences of houses and agencies and units collapsed, more than 4km of concrete roads and 800 meters of canals were eroded; 95 hectares of corn and vegetables, 10 hectares of industrial crops were damaged, 150.8 hectares of fish ponds were washed away...
