Initial success of Egyptian chicken farming model for eggs
(Baonghean.vn) - The movement of economic development and getting rich on the homeland has been actively responded to by many young people in Nghia Dan district. Many young people who started from nothing have become typical economic leaders of the locality. One of them is the Egyptian chicken farming model of Mr. Le Quy Cuong in Cao Trai hamlet, Nghia Thang commune.
After finishing 12th grade, Le Quy Cuong, due to his family's difficult circumstances, did not take the university entrance exam and stayed home to help his family with the economy. After a period of studying models in the localities and reading books and newspapers about chicken raising techniques; with the support of the Youth Entrepreneurship Fund, Cuong invested in raising more than 600 Egyptian egg-laying chickens.
Thanks to the correct application of care and disease prevention procedures, after 21 weeks of raising chickens, they began to lay eggs. Mr. Le Quy Cuong shared: Previously, his family raised chickens for meat but the output was difficult, the price was unstable. Now, switching to raising chickens for eggs, he finds that it does not require as much care as for meat chickens; currently, the price of eggs is stable at 3,000 - 3,500 VND/egg.

The entire farm is solidly designed, has lighting system, automatic drinking water supply, ventilation fan, ensuring warmth in winter and coolness in summer.
According to Mr. Cuong, Egyptian chickens have good resistance and are less susceptible to disease. During the raising process, the farm does not use antibiotics. After the chickens are over 120 days old, they start laying eggs. To keep the chickens healthy, the selection of breeds is very important. In addition, the water source for the chickens to drink must also be hygienic. During the raising process, probiotics must be regularly sprinkled on the chicken manure to eliminate odors, and the manure should be cleaned every 2-3 months.
Egyptian chickens are also known as super egg chickens, with an average of 250 eggs/hen/year, suitable for the climate and environment of Vietnam. According to Mr. Cuong's family's calculations, with 600 laying hens, they produce an average of 400 eggs per day; the current selling price is 3,500 VND/egg, after deducting expenses, the monthly profit is about 18 million VND.
