Thanh Dong meets new rural standards

(Baonghean.vn) -On February 23, Thanh Dong commune (Thanh Chuong) held a ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition as a commune meeting new rural standards.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office; Comrade Nguyen Huu Vinh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee - Secretary of the District Party Committee, Nguyen Van Que - Chairman of the District People's Committee and many people of Thanh Chuong district and Thanh Dong commune attended the ceremony.

After 5 years of building the new rural area, Thanh Dong has mobilized construction resources with a total cost of 121,995 billion VND. Of which, provincial and central budgets: 60,911 billion VND; district budget: 0,780 billion VND. Commune budget: 8,364 billion VND; enterprises: 4.7 billion VND; people's contributions: 46,102 billion VND, socialized sources: 1.2 billion VND.

The commune has invested in upgrading 15.65 km of communal and inter-communal roads to 100% asphalt and concrete. Village roads and alleys, including 30.15 km, have been hardened to standards. The main intra-field road, 16.04 km, has been 100% hardened to ensure convenient motor vehicle travel.

People's living standards have been constantly improving, with average income per capita in 2013 reaching 23.3 million VND/person/year; in 2014 it was 25.7 million VND/person/year; in 2015 it is estimated to reach 27 million VND/person/year. To date, the poverty rate has decreased to 4.9%.

At the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Van Que - Chairman of the District People's Committee, authorized by the Provincial People's Committee, awarded the Certificate of Recognition of the commune meeting new rural standards and a reward of 500 million VND to the People's Committee of Thanh Dong commune; 3 collectives and 3 individuals with outstanding achievements also received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

On this occasion, 3 collectives and 4 individuals with outstanding achievements were also awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the District People's Committee.
