Respectfully celebrate the 2018 Nghe An Lotus Festival
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 20, at Dai Tue Pagoda (Nam Anh Commune, Nam Dan District), the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An Province coordinated with the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to organize the cultural festival "Huong Sen Xu Nghe", commemorating the Buddha's birthday PL.2562 and the 128th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.
Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dam - Deputy Supreme Patriarch of the Council of Patriarchs; Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu - Permanent Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An province; Most Venerable Thich Tho Lac - Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Permanent Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An province.
Also attending were representatives of departments, branches, local authorities and hundreds of Buddhists inside and outside the province.

The Nghe Sen Festival is an activity that promotes moral values and the spirit of compassion according to Buddha's teachings; guides people towards the beauty of truth - goodness - beauty; and contributes to the construction and development of the country.
At the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu read the Buddha's Birthday Message of Buddhist calendar 2562 from the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to monks, nuns, and Buddhists at home and abroad.

The message reminds monks, nuns and Buddhists to unite, concentrate their wisdom, together preserve and promote the purity, the tradition of protecting the country and the people, accompanying the nation of Vietnamese Buddhism; each monk, nun, Buddhist, and member organization of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha must enhance their responsibility and fulfill their duties in the spirit of: Wisdom - Discipline - Integration - Development.

At the end of the ceremony, delegates performed the balloon release ceremony to pray for national peace and prosperity.
On this occasion, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An province presented 60 gifts to 60 poor students who have overcome difficulties in the area; 2 gifts to two heroic Vietnamese mothers. The Executive Committee also contributed 10 million VND to the Nam Anh commune's scholarship fund.
