Nghe An Police Youth launched the campaign 'Let's clean the sea'

(Baonghean.vn) - On May 24, at Binh Minh Square (Cua Lo Town), the Provincial Police Youth Union coordinated with the Cua Lo Town Youth Union to organize the launching ceremony of the campaign "Let's clean the sea" with the participation of nearly 150 union members.

The campaign “Let’s clean the sea” was launched to promote and raise awareness among the youth union members of the Provincial Police and local people about protecting the marine environment and responding to climate change. The campaign attracted the participation of a large number of youth union members of the Youth Union branches under the Provincial Police Youth Union, and youth union members of the People’s Police Academy who are interning in Vinh City and Cua Lo Town.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, nearly 100 youth union members collectedalong the beach with a length of nearly 2km (from Thu Thuy ward to Nghi Thu ward).Waste including plastic bags, household waste, dead marine life washed ashore... is collected for the town's environmental sanitation workers to take away for treatment according to regulations.

Giving gifts to fishing households in difficult circumstances.

On the same day, the Provincial Police Youth Union coordinated with the Cua Lo Town Youth Union to visit and present 20 gifts to poor fishermen in Nghi Thuy Ward (Cua Lo Town), each gift worth 500,000 VND. This is the amount contributed by officers and soldiers of the grassroots branches under the Provincial Police Youth Union.

Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Khanh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Police Youth Union shared: This is a practical activity to stand side by side with fishermen to confidently stick to the sea, protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

In the coming time, the Provincial Police Youth Union will have many other activities to support fishermen such as giving nets, life buoys, national flags, and radios. The program will be maintained and implemented monthly with the participation of grassroots branches under the Provincial Police Youth Union and Police Youth Unions of coastal localities in the province.
