Vu Van Quy (26 years old, residing in Nghe An) hid nearly 10,000 synthetic drug pills in his bag and took a bus from Laos to Vietnam.

On the morning of December 12, a Lao passenger bus running from Vientiane to Hanoi carrying Quy and many others through the Cau Treo international border gate (Huong Son district) was stopped by the Ha Tinh Border Guard, customs and market management forces for administrative inspection. Quy jumped off the bus with a bag containing drugs to escape, but was stopped.

At the scene, authorities seized 49 blue nylon bags containing nearly 10,000 ecstasy pills. Authorities determined that the synthetic drug batch was worth about 2 billion VND.

Quy khai was hired by a stranger to transport the goods from Laos to Vietnam to deliver to a partner in Nghe An, and when completed, he would be paid.

Ha Tinh Border Guard is completing the documents to hand over Quy and the evidence to Ha Tinh Police for handling.
