Another 250,000 doses of Vero-Cell vaccine are about to arrive in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn)- Currently, Nghe An has completed the injection of 200,000 doses of Vero-Cell vaccine allocated in the previous phase and is waiting to receive the new phase.
On the morning of October 8, Mr. Tran Minh Tue - Deputy Director of the Department of Health said that Nghe An has so far administered nearly 650,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine. Of these, 90,517 people have received 2 doses of vaccine, reaching 3.9% of the total number of people aged 18 and over. More than 559,000 people in Nghe An have received at least 1 dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
Also according to Mr. Tue,200,000 doses of Vero-Cell vaccineThe doses that Nghe An received in the previous batch have been completed. Currently, the Ministry of Health has just decided to allocate an additional 250,000 doses of Vero-Cell vaccine to Nghe An, however, it is expected that they will be shipped back to the country next week.
"We are considering whether to reserve these 250,000 doses for the second injection for those who have just received the first injection a few days ago. Because this Vero-Cell vaccine does not allow mixing injections," said Mr. Tue. According to recommendations, the time from the first injection to the second injection is about 3 to 4 weeks.

Thus, with the addition of the 250,000 doses that are about to arrive, Nghe An has been allocated more than 1 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, Nghe An is the 4th most populous province in the country, currently having more than 2.3 million citizens aged 18 and over.
To date, more than 36 million people in Vietnam have been vaccinated against Covid-19, of which nearly 13 million have received two doses. Vietnam aims to receive 150 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine this year, vaccinating about 70% of the population, in order to achieve community immunity.
