(Baonghean.vn) - The level of support for damage caused by natural disasters in the aquaculture sector can be up to 60 million VND/ha.

The Provincial People's Committee is submitting to the Provincial People's Council for approval a Decision on Agricultural Production Support Policy to restore production in areas damaged by natural disasters and epidemics in Nghe An province.

According to the draft regulations agreed by the Provincial People's Committee and submitted to the Provincial People's Council for approval, when meeting all the prescribed conditions, extensive shrimp farming areas (rice-shrimp farming, ecological shrimp farming, forest shrimp farming, and combined shrimp farming), if the damage is over 70%, will receive support of 6 million VND/ha, damage from 30-70% will receive support of 4 million VND/ha.

Areas for traditional fish farming and native fish species will receive support from 3 - 10 million VND/ha; areas for semi-intensive and intensive black tiger shrimp farming will receive support from 6 million to 8 million VND/ha depending on the level of damage as above.

The highest level of support that farmers can receive belongs to damaged mollusk farming areas (clams), with the amount ranging from 40 million VND to 60 million VND/ha corresponding to damage levels of 30% - 70% and over 70%.

For intensive monosex pangasius and tilapia farming areas, the damage support level is from 20-30 million VND/ha; Intensive coldwater fish farming areas (sturgeon, salmon) are supported from 35-50 million VND/ha, offshore cage farming (offshore, near islands) is supported from 15-20 million VND/100m2 cage depending on the level of damage...

In addition, the draft also provides support for the fields of agriculture, forestry, and livestock and poultry farming damaged by natural disasters, with specific support levels.

The purpose of the support is to restore agricultural production damaged by the impact of natural disasters and epidemics in Nghe An province according to the provisions of Decree No. 02/2017/ND-CP dated January 9, 2017 of the Prime Minister on mechanisms and policies to support agricultural production to restore production in areas damaged by natural disasters and epidemics. The support will be implemented promptly, directly in cash or in kind, ensuring quality, suitable to the ecological conditions and reality of the locality.

To ensure the effectiveness of the support policy, in case the superior budget supports in cash, the Chairman of the District People's Committee will decide on the most appropriate, convenient and effective support method (in cash or in kind) to restore production. In case of support in kind, the support level is converted to the equivalent of cash support according to the price at the time of support.
