Tricks of a group of young people betting online in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - The investigation agency has proven that the amount of money the subjects used for gambling in 3 days was nearly 100 million VND. In this gambling ring, Nguyen Quoc Linh and Le Ngoc Anh had the role of receiving lottery numbers transferred by players.
Con Cuong District Police (Nghe An) has just initiated a case, prosecuting 3 defendants including: Le Ngoc Anh, born in 1992; Ngo Thai Van, born in 1981, both residing in Bong Khe Commune, Con Cuong District and Nguyen Quoc Linh, born in 1984, residing in Chi Khe Commune, Con Cuong District for gambling.
Previously, through reconnaissance work, Con Cuong District Police discovered many subjects in the area organizing gambling in the form of recording lottery numbers. To deceive the authorities, the subjects used mobile phone text messages and social networks to commit crimes. Realizing the complicated nature of the case, the ringleaders had attracted many people in the area to participate, negatively affecting the security and order situation, Con Cuong District Police established Project 720B to fight and eradicate this gambling ring.

At 5:00 p.m. on August 2, 2020, dozens of officers and soldiers of Con Cuong District Police simultaneously executed arrest warrants and searched 3 subjects including Le Ngoc Anh, Ngo Thai Van and Nguyen Quoc Linh for gambling, confiscating 5 million VND, 6 mobile phones, 2 notebooks recording lottery numbers. Expanding the investigation, Con Cuong District Police continued to clarify 2 related subjects including Nguyen Van Hai, born in 1976, residing in Tam Quang commune, Tuong Duong district and Nguyen Thi Hang, born in 1982, residing in Chi Khe commune, Con Cuong district, confiscating 10 million VND and 3 mobile phones.
Through the struggle, the subjects admitted to their crimes. Initially, the investigation agency proved that the amount of money the subjects used for gambling in 03 days (from July 27-29, 2020) was nearly 100 million VND. In this gambling ring, Nguyen Quoc Linh and Le Ngoc Anh had the role of receiving lottery numbers transferred by players, the remaining subjects were lottery players.
Currently, Con Cuong District Police are continuing to expand the investigation.
