Valedictorian of 9th grade province shares effective way to study Civic Education

(Baonghean.vn) - Although he is good at many subjects, Trinh Minh Chau - a student at Dien Thap Secondary School (Dien Chau) chose Civic Education to compete in the excellent student competition.

With his efforts and above all his passion for the subject, Trinh Minh Chau became the valedictorian of Civic Education in the provincial excellent student exam for grade 9, school year 2023-2024 with a score of 17.50.

After the results of the provincial exam for excellent students in grade 9 were announced, teachers and students of Dien Thap Secondary School were delighted and proud to have a valedictorian in this exam for the first time.

This result made Minh Chau love Civic Education even more and affirmed that her choice to pursue the subject she was passionate about was the right one.

Trinh Minh Chau shared: “Entering the 9th grade, I realized that I have a passion for Civic Education. I have never considered this a minor subject, because for me, this is a subject that educates students about personality, ethics, and lifestyle as well as helps us live and work according to the law. This is also the reason why I chose Civic Education to compete in the excellent student competition.”

The family has 5 siblings, the circumstances are not very good but Minh Chau always studies hard. At home, she is a good and filial child. She has arranged her study schedule reasonably to help her mother with housework, so that her parents can rest assured to take care of the family's finances.

Since grade 6, I have always been an excellent student. My teachers chose me to take the Math exam, but I would like to take the Civic Education exam because I am very confident in this subject.

Ms. Pham Thi Bich Thao - Civic Education teacher shared: At the beginning of the school year, Chau registered for the school's excellent student team and continued to receive training from teachers. During the learning process, she tried to grasp the knowledge that her teachers imparted; learning, understanding, and applying it to real life situations helped her learn this subject better and better.

During her studies, Minh Chau has always received special affection from her teachers and classmates. Because besides her academic achievements, an important part is that through her understanding of Civic Education, Minh Chau has participated in mediation, analyzing right and wrong when conflicts arise in class. She is also trusted by teachers to participate in propaganda sessions on Traffic Safety Law, prevention of school violence, social evils...

According to Chau, through solving questions about life situations, she has accumulated more knowledge, gained more life experience and trained herself to become a good citizen. From diligent study and accumulated knowledge, along with the dedicated guidance of teachers, Chau confidently participated in the contest and achieved the highest results. Loving the subject of human education, imbued with the saying "first learn manners, then learn literature", Minh Chau determined that if she wanted to become a useful person for society, she must first practice good ethics and personality.

Minh Chau shared: “For me, Civic Education is an interesting subject. The values ​​that this subject brings are not only knowledge in studying but also application in life. Like the time my parents had a conflict, with the responsibility as a child in the family and the knowledge through Civic Education, I gave my opinion to my parents, analyzed, and affirmed the role of children as a bridge to create a harmonious atmosphere in the family. Or when my younger siblings had wrong actions when participating in traffic, I also analyzed and gave specific evidence to convince them to take the right action.”

Commenting on her student, teacher Pham Thi Bich Thao - Civic Education teacher said: Chau's knowledge of this subject is very solid, her writing is coherent, clear and has a wide understanding of social issues, and she has a serious attitude in studying. She has very mature and profound thinking, so when she participates in solving situations in class, she is very much supported by her classmates. For each lesson, she not only studies the textbook carefully but also collects documents. In difficult situations, she boldly asks the teacher for further guidance.

In the provincial excellent student selection exam for grade 9 in the 2023-2024 school year, Dien Thap Secondary School had 3 students participating and all 3 won prizes. In addition to Trinh Minh Chau, the valedictorian of Civic Education, there was also Ngo Thi Bao Ngoc, who won second prize in Civic Education, and Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, who won second prize in History. This is a high achievement that the school has achieved in the provincial excellent student exam; becoming a motivation for teachers and students of the school to further promote the emulation movement of good teaching, good learning, and strive to achieve more achievements.
