Prime Minister: Pay maximum attention to overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10 in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 16, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Politburo member, Prime Minister directly inspected and directed the work of overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10 in Cua Lo town, one of the localities that suffered the most damage in Nghe An province. Accompanying him were leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Public Security, and a number of related ministries and branches.
On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited Nghi Hai Primary School in Nghi Hai Ward, Cua Lo Town on September 15. Due to the impact of storm No. 10, many buildings in the school had their roofs blown off, many trees were broken and felled, causing damage of more than 1 billion VND.
Directly inspecting the storm recovery work, the Prime Minister shared the losses and damages to Nghi Hai Primary School, and encouraged teachers to make efforts to overcome the consequences; counted the damages in the report, and made a general proposal of the province to submit to the Prime Minister for consideration of support.
The Prime Minister assessed that Nghe An province has seriously absorbed the Central Government's direction in responding to storm No. 10, thus limiting damage, especially to people. "The Central Government acknowledges your efforts," said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister requested the province to continue mobilizing local forces and the political system to clean up the environment, in conjunction with the military and police forces under specific assignments from the province to support people in overcoming the consequences caused by the storm, such as houses with blown roofs, repairing damaged schools to ensure learning conditions on Monday (September 18); and ensuring electricity and water for daily life for the people.
The Prime Minister requested the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee to direct relevant districts and assign leaders to inspect; the political system, especially the youth and women's forces, to coordinate with the police and military forces to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10, ensuring that people's lives and production return to normal on September 16 and 17.
The Prime Minister also requested Military Region 4 and the Public Security force to continue deploying forces in combination with local forces to help Nghe An province.

During Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc's inspection visit, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh, after reporting on the response situation and damage caused by the storm, made three recommendations to the Prime Minister.
That is to build a flood warning system in Ky Son and on Hieu River to prevent flash floods; at the same time, upgrade the province's sea dyke system because it can currently only withstand level 10 storms.
Assessing these as major and urgent issues, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc assigned Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong to accompany the delegation to collect recommendations and proposals from the province to submit to the Prime Minister, including the issue of people lacking rice. "We will pay maximum attention and handle it very specifically" - the Prime Minister emphasized.

At the end of the inspection trip, the Prime Minister commended the Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the political system of Nghe An province, and highly appreciated the Commander of Military Region 4 for promptly directing the work of preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10 in Nghe An.
During storm No. 10, Nghe An had 4,016 vehicles/18,541 direct seafood fishing workers taking shelter from the storm to ensure safety; 625 dams are currently safe.
According to the quick report of the People's Committees of localities and units, the initial damage summary up to 4:00 p.m. on September 15, 2017 of 12/21 units showed that 1 person died, 1 person was seriously injured, 725 houses, shops, and kiosks had their roofs blown off; 380 hectares of winter-spring rice were flooded, collapsed, and broken; 2,348 hectares of corn and various vegetables were flooded, collapsed, and broken; more than 271.5 hectares of aquaculture were flooded...
