French Prime Minister Manuel Valls on March 19 called the arrest of Paris terror attack suspect Salah Abdeslam "an important step" in the fight against terrorism, but warned that the threat of terrorism remains high, Xinhua and AFP reported.

"It is an important step in the fight against terrorism, but the threat remains very high, or perhaps higher than we knew before the attacks of November 13, 2015. Other networks, organisations, individuals, in France, in Europe, are organising to prepare new attacks," Valls said.

On the same day, Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said that the fugitive in the Paris attacks, Salah Abdeslam, who was recently arrested, told interrogators that he "wanted to blow himself up" at the Stade de France stadium, but changed his mind.
