Prime Minister holds bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the G20 Summit
The Prime Minister had official meetings with South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
On the afternoon of July 7 local time, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Hamburg, Germany, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had official meetings with South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
On behalf of President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc invited President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in and Prime Minister of Australia Malcolm Turnbull to attend the 25th APEC Summit in Vietnam in November 2017. The two leaders of the Republic of Korea and Australia thanked and happily accepted the invitation.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc appreciated President Moon Jae-in's sending of a Special Envoy to Vietnam immediately after taking office, demonstrating his importance to developing the Vietnam-Korea Strategic Partnership. The two leaders agreed to promote high-level visits and contacts on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Korea diplomatic relations in 2017; further promote economic, trade, investment cooperation and cultural exchanges between the two countries; and strive to increase two-way trade turnover to 100 billion USD by 2020. On this occasion, President Moon Jae-in respectfully invited Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to visit Korea.
Appreciating the important role of Korea as the largest investor and third largest trade partner of Vietnam, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested that Korea increase the import of Vietnamese products with strengths such as agriculture, forestry, fishery and seafood, and closely coordinate with Vietnam to effectively implement the Vietnam-Korea Free Trade Agreement.
The Prime Minister also asked Korea to continue supporting Vietnam to participate in Korea's global production and supply chains; focus on technology transfer and support the development of supporting industries for Vietnam; continue to support Vietnam to access IDA capital after 2017; and support Vietnamese brides to better integrate into Korean society...
Affirming the importance of further promoting the Strategic Partnership with Vietnam, President Moon Jae-in pledged to direct relevant Korean agencies to promptly review and actively promote the implementation of Vietnam's cooperation proposals. At the same time, President Moon Che In also emphasized that the Korean Government is very interested and will make efforts to take better care of the lives of Vietnamese women who marry Korean men so that they can integrate more easily into the host society, contributing to enhancing the cultural diversity of Korea.

At the meeting between Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Australian Prime Minister Turnbull, the two leaders expressed their delight at the strong progress in the relationship between the two countries, and discussed specific directions and measures to further promote the Vietnam - Australia Enhanced Comprehensive Partnership. The two sides agreed to continue to enhance high political trust through the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level delegations. Australian Prime Minister Turnbull invited Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to attend the Australia - ASEAN Special Summit scheduled for March 2018 and to pay a bilateral visit to Australia on this occasion.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomed Australia's support for Vietnam in new areas such as climate change response, innovation, support for start-ups, and capacity building in the private sector.
Believing that the potential for economic and trade cooperation between the two countries is still very large, the Prime Minister suggested that Australia open its market and create more favorable conditions for Vietnamese products to be present in Australia's commodity structure, especially tropical fruits and seafood.
For his part, Prime Minister Turnbull affirmed that Australia wishes to upgrade relations with Vietnam to a Strategic Partnership, while emphasizing that the community of more than 200,000 Australians of Vietnamese origin and over 25,000 Vietnamese students studying in Australia is a very important foundation of the good relationship between the two countries.
Prime Minister Turnbull also emphasized that Australia will continue to support and assist Vietnam in successfully organizing APEC Year 2017.
Regarding the East Sea issue, the Australian and Korean leaders shared their views with Vietnam on the importance of maintaining peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea, and resolving disputes by peaceful means on the basis of international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
On the same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met and had a brief exchange with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Senegalese President Macky Sall, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Head of the Saudi Arabian Delegation.
At the meetings, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and leaders of the countries discussed directions and measures to further promote bilateral relations between Vietnam and the countries as well as coordinate at regional and international forums./.
