Nghe An: Couple arrested for transporting large amount of drugs, dismantling transnational ring

(Baonghean.vn) - A large-scale drug trafficking ring has just been dismantled by Nghe An Police, arresting 4 subjects, seizing 3 kg of crystal meth, and nearly 5,000 USD.

On the afternoon of October 16, the leaders of the district People's Committee gave a bonus to the Thanh Chuong District Police's Special Investigation Team for successfully breaking up Special Investigation No. 288T, discovering and seizing a large quantity of drugs.

Previously, at 9:00 p.m. on October 12, 2019, when determining that the subjects in the project were on their way to transport drugs to the South for consumption, the Project Board mobilized maximum forces and vehicles to block on National Highway 46, the bypass road to Ben Thuy Bridge, in Hung Dao Commune, Hung Nguyen District.

Here, Thanh Chuong District Police and the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of the Provincial Police successfully arrested two subjects Nguyen The Lam (born in 1976, residing in Hanh Lam Commune) and Luong Thi Thuong (born in 1985, residing in Thanh Son Commune) of Thanh Chuong District. They seized 3 kg of crystal meth and 4,900 USD.

The task force continued to arrest two subjects Tran Van Tuong (born in 1979) and Phan Dinh Hoang (born in 1962), residing in Hanh Lam commune, Thanh Chuong district, and seized two mobile phones. All of these drugs were transported from Laos to Vietnam by the subjects. Currently, the task force is continuing to expand the investigation and capture the remaining subjects in the network.
