Ban Ve Hydropower Plant has not had to discharge flood control water after storm No. 4
(Baonghean.vn) - Due to the influence of storm No. 4, the water flow into Ban Ve Hydropower Reservoir has been increasing rapidly over the past few days. Currently, the water level of Ban Ve Reservoir is 196.4m, 200m above the normal water level according to the inter-reservoir operation process. Therefore, at this time, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant does not have to discharge water to regulate floods.
In recent days, due to the impact of storm No. 4, some districts in the downstream of Ca River in Nghe An province have been flooded on a large scale, so the factoryBan Ve Hydropower Planthas limited power generation to reduce flooding downstream. From September 30 to October 2, the total amount of water flowing into the lake was 120 million m3, the plant only operates the generator without releasing water through the spillway. The flood reduction rate for downstream is up to 90%.

With the forecasted water flow into the lake, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant will not release water for regulation. However, to ensure the maintenance of flood prevention capacity for downstream and the safety of the project, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant will operate to generate electricity to reduce the risk of overflow discharge, the amount of water through the generator will be less than the amount of water flowing into the lake./.
