Ban Ve Hydropower Plant informs people in downstream areas about flood prevention solutions
(Baonghean.vn) - On July 2 and 3, in 5 downstream villages of Yen Na and Luong Minh communes (Tuong Duong), Ban Ve Hydropower Company held a communication conference on Ban Ve Hydropower.
Attending the conference were representatives of Tuong Duong district leaders and local authorities of Yen Na and Luong Minh communes, village elders, village chiefs and more than 600 people from 5 downstream villages, including: Ban La, Ban Ve, Ban Coi, Ban Xop Mat and Ban Minh Phuong.

At the conference, people heard a presentation about the role of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant in the operation of the plant during flood and dry seasons, the electricity production process and other benefits from the Ban Ve Hydropower Plant.
In addition, the Company continues to promote coordination with local authorities in flood reduction and operation during flood season, water regulation against drought, serving irrigation in the downstream area of the factory; Warning and ways to prevent drowning accidents for people in the downstream area when producing and traveling in the downstream river and stream areas of the factory.

Regarding the flood prevention and control plan for the downstream area of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant in 2020, the company analyzed and clarified the flood discharge notification command at the spillway; locations of loudspeaker warning stations; basic situations and solutions to prevent and avoid floods; introduced evacuation locations for people and property when flooding occurs, and areas affected when the project discharges floodwaters with large flows...

Also at the Conference, people listened to representatives of the North Central Hydrometeorological Center present content on hydrometeorology in disaster prevention work.

The Ban Ve Hydropower Plant construction project was approved by the Prime Minister as an investment project in Decision No. 665/QD-TTg dated June 19, 2003 with an installed capacity of 320 MW. The project is built on the Nam Non River, in Yen Na Commune, Tuong Duong District. Construction started on August 7, 2004 with a total investment of VND 7,800 billion. Unit 1 generated electricity on April 10, 2010, Unit 2 generated electricity on May 19, 2010.
By February 2020, the electricity output of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant had reached 10 billion kWh, contributing more than 1,000 billion VND to the State budget.
