Integrating energy saving solutions in production
(Baonghean.vn) - In the period of 2021 - 2025, Nghe An sets a goal of saving energy from 5-7% of total energy consumption. Solutions for developing science and technology and production and business are being implemented by many enterprises in the production process.
Many effective saving solutions
The waste gas thermal power generation system is a new advanced European technology solution applied in many industrial sectors. This technology is currently also applied and installed by The Vissai Cement Group in sync with the construction process of Do Luong Cement Plant and has been operating stably since 2016.
The residual gas thermal power generation system operates based on the principle of collecting heat from exhaust gas and residual gas of the clinker production line to get steam to run the turbine generator and generate electricity to the factory's power grid to serve the production process, contributing to reducing product costs and protecting the environment. Exhaust gas and residual gas after passing through the residual gas power generation system will be clean of dust and cooled before being discharged into the environment. This is the best and most modern environmental protection solution in current cement production technology. According to statistics, each year this system produces about 100 million MWh, providing up to 40% of the electricity consumed by Do Luong Cement Factory.

Along with the residual gas thermal power generation system, Do Luong Cement Factory has a very modern electrostatic dust filter system with a dust filtering efficiency of up to 98.8%, so the amount of dust released into the environment is almost zero. The amount of dust recovered from the residual gas thermal power generation system and electrostatic dust filter is returned to the production process, helping the factory save production costs. Thanks to the synchronous application of energy saving solutions, Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company saves over 19 billion VND/year.
The average daily electricity output is very high, averaging around 330Mw. For the inverter system, the fan system has reduced the amount of electricity relatively. We also apply suitable off-peak and peak hours to reduce the average electricity price.
Nghe An Wood Processing Factory (May Forestry Joint Stock Company) is also one of the key energy-using facilities in the area. To save energy, the factory has made the most of natural lighting sources, standardized production processes, increased the capacity of machinery and equipment, and implemented a rooftop solar power project with an electricity output of more than 650,000KW. With the above solutions, the amount of electricity consumed per m3products are decreasing. If in 2020 the electricity consumption is 362.7kWh/m3By early 2021, it will be only 296.7kWh/m3products. The factory strives to reduce electricity consumption to about 280kWh/m by the end of 2021.3product.

Meanwhile, Tien Phong Plastic Company in the Central Region (Nam Cam Industrial Park) has a capacity of up to 20,000 tons/year. To use electricity economically and effectively, the company invested in building a high, airy factory, installing shields, cooling, heat dissipation systems and continuously improving the stages of mixing, creating products, and processing recycled materials. The company has thoroughly applied technical solutions such as: choosing to invest in modern, advanced production machinery and equipment that consumes less electricity; replacing and improving old, outdated machinery and equipment lines with low productivity and high energy consumption. The appropriate power grid and load distribution system always ensures the load is closest to the source, the power lines are calculated with a cross-section to ensure transmission with the least loss of electricity.
The company also installed a series of frequency converters for high-capacity AC motors and injection molding machines. In addition, it regularly cleans heat exchangers for air conditioners, mixers, extruders and molds to improve productivity and efficiency of the equipment... Thanks to that, the company's electricity cost is currently 0.337kWh/kg of product, a decrease of 0.04% compared to the standard for the plastic pipe manufacturing industry.
Target to save 5-7% of total consumption
Enforcement of the LawUse energy efficiently, efficiency and guidance documents, the Provincial People's Committee has issued Decision No. 32 approving the plan for energy saving use for the period 2021 - 2025. In particular, focusing on applying new technology, integrating energy saving solutions in industrial production facilities, key energy users in the area. According to statistics, the industrial sector accounts for more than 47% of total energy consumption.

Meanwhile, the potential for energy savings can reach 20-40%. Therefore, the room for energy savings for businesses is quite large. Currently, to save production costs, many factories, especially in the cement production sector, are applying many solutions to use electricity economically and effectively to help reduce production costs, reduce product prices, and increase competitiveness in the market.
According to Nghe An Electricity Company, in the first 8 months of 2021, the total electricity consumption of the province reached 2,767.57 million kWh, an increase of 10.7% over the same period in 2020, of which the construction industry consumed 1,346 million kWh. Thus, the electricity consumption for production purposes in Nghe An accounted for 48.6%. The annual consumption of construction industry electricity increased by 12-14%. Currently, there are about 124 enterprises with electricity consumption of 1 million KW or more.
In the first 7 months of the year, the amount of energy saved in industrial and construction production reached 15 million kWh/the total amount of energy saved by all consuming components in the province was 44 million kWh. Energy saving not only brings benefits and efficiency to the production of enterprises but also contributes to reducing overloaded power lines and transformer stations, reducing local power shortages in the entire power system.
Implementing Resolution No. 55-NQ/TW dated February 11, 2020 of the Politburo and Resolution No. 140/NQ-CP on economical and efficient use of energy, Nghe An has issued programs and plans to effectively save energy. In particular, energy saving in enterprises is focused on and receives consensus from the business community.

It can be affirmed that the energy saving program is of great significance to the production and business of enterprises and the issue of national energy security. However, the number of enterprises participating in the program is currently limited; many enterprises have registered but still have no solution. Mr. Pham Van Hoa - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: The implementation of energy saving in enterprises has reduced costs and improved efficiency in production and business activities. This activity also contributes significantly to the goal of protecting the environment and national energy security, effectively combating climate change.
Faced with increasing demand for electricity and erratic weather conditions, the Department of Industry and Trade encourages businesses to participate in the electricity load adjustment program, develop rooftop solar power to help reduce pressure on the system during peak hours and ensure national energy security; in particular, promoting the application of energy saving programs in the business sector is an urgent requirement.
