SLNA midfielder Ho Sy Sam: Going is bad, staying is precarious
(Baonghean.vn) - The player from Quynh Luu is facing two choices, either stay at SLNA or move to another team. There is no solution that is satisfactory for both sides.

Will a large corporation join hands with Bac A Bank to sponsor SLNA?
(Baonghean.vn) - 2018 is a year that marks a strong comeback of Nghe An football. After the U23 Asian Cup and the effects from the U23 Vietnam team... SLNA has continuously reaped successes beyond the expectations of fans in all aspects. And that is the basis for SLNA to find a new direction.
The end of the 2018 season is also the time when the contract between Ho Sy Sam and the Nghe An team officially expires. In the past, the SLNA leadership and the midfielder born in 1993 have sat down together a couple of times to negotiate a new contract. However, both sides have not found a common voice and Ho Sy Sam is still a free player.
The problem between the player from Quynh Luu and SLNA is not entirely about the treatment (salary, bonus), but also about the professional issue. While Ho Sy Sam wants to play more, instead of having to be a friend of the bench like in recent seasons, the Nghe An team cannot guarantee that.
Ho Sy Sam’s wish is completely justified, because his “shorts and numbered shirt” career is not long. This year, the player wearing the number 8 shirt of SLNA is 25 years old. If he does not play regularly, the risk of Ho Sy Sam’s talent fading and his “career being ruined” is quite high.

Statistics show that in V.League 2016, V.League 2017 and V.League 2018, Ho Sy Sam's playing time was 783 minutes, 352 minutes and 1311 minutes respectively. The number of goals scored by the midfielder born in 1993 for SLNA since being promoted to the first team (in 2013) was only 1 goal. This is a very disappointing result for a player who was highly appreciated in the SLNA youth teams.
In addition to the frequent injuries, Ho Sy Sam is not the preferred choice of the Nghe An team's coaching staff in the central midfielder position. The player from Quynh Luu cannot compete for a starting position with teammates such as Ho Khac Ngoc, Vo Ngoc Toan or most recently Hoang Van Binh. There was a time when the midfielder wearing the number 8 shirt also had to play as both a right-back and a left-back.
In the first leg of this year's V.League, Ho Sy Sam played more often and left a clear impression. In the situation where Vo Ngoc Toan had to rest and recover from an injury, Dau Thanh Phong could not show anything, forcing the SLNA coaching staff to use Ho Sy Sam to play alongside Ho Khac Ngoc in the central midfield position.
Uncertain future
Things took a negative turn for Ho Sy Sam when the Nghe An team brought Hoang Van Binh from FLC Thanh Hoa. The appearance of Hoang Van Binh made the 1993-born junior rarely appear in SLNA's starting lineup.
During the second leg of V.League 2018, Ho Sy Sam's familiar position was on the bench. This coming season, the Vinh team's midfield will still be very crowded, especially the central midfield position.
Along with the duo Ho Khac Ngoc - Hoang Van Binh, coach Nguyen Duc Thang also has Vo Ngoc Toan and Le Manh Dung. Not to mention, some promising players in the U-teams such as Dang Van Lam, Bui Dinh Chau, Nguyen Van Duc... will be promoted to the first team by the SLNA leadership to get acquainted and compete in the V.League and the National Cup.

Knowing that Ho Sy Sam has not signed a new contract with SLNA, many teams in V.League and First Division have expressed their desire to recruit this player. Although he did not make a strong impression in the Vinh Stadium team's shirt, Ho Sy Sam's talent and experience still caught the attention of many coaches in other teams.
As long as the midfielder born in 1993 wants to try his hand in a new environment, there will be a place that will welcome him with open arms. A midfielder who plays football with enthusiasm and diligence like Ho Sy Sam does not lack a "promised land" to prove himself.
The player from Quynh Luu shared: “Honestly, I just want to stay at SLNA. Being able to contribute to my hometown team is an honor and a source of pride for me and my family. Furthermore, I want to play football near home to take care of my family, my wife just gave birth to a child over 2 months ago.” Clearly, Ho Sy Sam is facing a problem that is not easy to solve./.
