Gifu Prefecture (Japan) studies vocational training in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of February 22, a working delegation from Gifu province, Japan led by Mr. Satoshi Horibe – Deputy Director of the Department of Industry, Labor and Trade of the province visited and worked at the Vietnam – Korea Technical Vocational College in Vinh city.

Accompanying the delegation were leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Nghe An province. Welcoming and receiving the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Duy Nam - Principal and Board of Directors of the school.

Vietnam – Korea Technical and Technology Vocational College was established in 1999 with ODA capital from the Korean Government to help Nghe An province train and develop human resources. Currently, the school has 177 staff, teachers, over 3,000 students with 11 training majors such as: Mechanics, welding, electronics, refrigeration, IT, etc.

Every year, the school has 1,000 graduates who are accepted to work at many domestic enterprises and in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.

For Japan, the school also has a number of cooperation programs such as: Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) opened a class on Practical Workshop Management and Occupational Safety and Hygiene; Vietnam General Department of Vocational Training chose to apply the production management method according to Japan's 5S standard: screening, arranging, cleaning, caring, and readiness.

Currently, the school has students who are interns in Japan through the IM Japan program of the Ministry of Labor, Japan and working at businesses in Japan, the school's teachers are also interns in Japan. In Vietnam, the school has also cooperated with Japanese businesses to employ students who graduated from the school in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nghe An, and Hanoi.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Nam – Principal of the school said he was very happy that the relationship between Nghe An and Gifu provinces is growing. The school is ready to train and provide human resources for Japan if needed.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Satoshi Horibe said that this trip of the Gifu delegation aimed to survey and learn about the investment environment in Nghe An. Through the introduction, it can be seen that the school's human resources are high-quality human resources; hopefully, the two sides will exchange more information on training and providing human resources because currently in Japan there is a great shortage of young human resources.

At the meeting, representatives of enterprises from Gifu province exchanged and learned more information about the vocational training process at the school and cooperation orientations to provide labor for enterprises in Japan and Japanese enterprises investing in Vietnam.
