Taking place in the context of the 4th outbreak of Covid-19,Workers MonthThis year, the Provincial Federation of Labor has directed the selection of appropriate organizational forms to ensure epidemic prevention and control. This spirit is clearly and creatively demonstrated in all aspects of implementation.

Right at the propaganda stage, trade unions at all levels have made the most of the spread of social networks such as Facebook, Zalo,Make full use of the power of mediaof the Electronic Information Page, press genres. It can be said that Workers' Month 2021 is considered a remarkable innovation in the propaganda work of Nghe An Trade Union.

Not only focus onWorkers MonthIn conjunction with the propaganda for the 135th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2021), trade unions at all levels also promoted propaganda about the 131st anniversary of Uncle Ho's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2021) and the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021 - 2026 term. As a result, 98% of trade unions have propaganda slogans at workplaces, on roads and centers; 33 "Workers' Month" identification sets were designed and implemented by the units themselves; 1,015 news, articles and reports on "Workers' Month" were broadcast on provincial and local radio and television stations and posted on the Nghe An Trade Union Electronic Information Portal, Labor Newspaper, Nghe An Newspaper, Labor and Trade Union Magazine, and social networks. In particular, the Provincial Federation of Labor directly designed 3 identity sets, 1 television report on "Workers' Month"; directly directed the Vinh City Federation of Labor to organize the 135th Anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1) and launch the Workers' Month 2021 with nearly 500 union members and employees participating.

With the drastic direction of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor, the timely reminders of the Organizing Committee, and the efforts of the district and industry trade unions, Workers' Month 2021 was marked by impressive and substantial numbers.

100% of grassroots trade unions developed implementation plans and directed grassroots trade unions to register at least one activity in response to "Workers' Month", many of which provided written advice to Party committees in directing activities. The number of grassroots trade unions organizing "Workers' Month" activities reached 96%, equivalent to 2,784 units, exceeding 541% of the target of 514 units assigned by the General Confederation of Labor. During Workers' Month, the whole province had 614 workers admitted to the Party, 31 grassroots trade unions were established, and 11,027 more union members were admitted.

Programme“75 thousand initiatives, overcoming difficulties, developing”has also become a proud highlight when Nghe An rose to the top of the country with more than 25,600 initiatives. Of the 129 initiatives of union members selected by districts and sectors to send to the Provincial Federation of Labor, 56 initiatives were recognized by the Provincial People's Committee and commended by the Provincial Federation of Labor, 4 initiatives were proposed to be commended by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

To truly be an organization that protects the legitimate rights and interests of workers, Nghe An Trade Union has implemented many humane programs, truly getting closer to workers.

Contributing to the above goal, the program "Listening - Understanding - Sharing" has been actively implemented by trade unions at all levels to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers in order to promptly share and resolve difficulties. As one of the units that have implemented this program well, the Education Trade Union has coordinated with the Department of Education and Training to organize a dialogue conference between employees and leaders of the sector in 5 districts, directly instructing and guiding a grassroots trade union to organize dialogues at the unit, working with non-public units... "From the dialogue and survey conferences, the industry trade union has issued documents recommending and proposing to the Provincial People's Committee to solve issues in 2021 such as: Deducting reduced class hours for employees working part-time in educational institutions according to Circular 08/TT-BGD&DT; The issue of implementing policies to support people facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic; The issue of teacher promotion exams; The issue of staffing" - Mr. Dang Van Hai - Chairman of the Education Trade Union said.

From the program "Listening - Understanding - Sharing", 14 dialogue conferences were organized by the grassroots trade union; 38 dialogue conferences were directly directed by the grassroots trade union to be implemented by the grassroots trade union, 106 working sessions between the grassroots trade union and the unit took place, 43 documents to ensure the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers were proposed for resolution.

With the meaning of caring for workers, the program "Thank you to workers" is implemented by trade unions at all levels through many practical forms, suitable to the actual situation such as meeting, praising, rewarding workers with exemplary initiatives, exemplary workers' families; organizing union member welfare programs with the content of discounting essential goods, discounting other products.health care package, entertainment, free medical examination, free motorbike oil change for workers; visit, encourage, give gifts to workers in difficult circumstances, workers with work accidents; build union shelters; organize programs“Summer Cooling”, voluntary blood donation; serving quarantine points; visiting, giving gifts, supporting businesses, frontline units in the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic... The program "Thank workers" has been implemented with a total budget of more than 2.5 billion VND, of which the union organization's budget is more than 1.9 billion VND.

“Workers’ Month 2021” is also the first year the program “Going to workers’ boarding houses” has been implemented. In this program, the Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with the Dong Nam Economic Zone Trade Union and the Nghi Loc District Labor Federation to conduct a survey to grasp the situation and give gifts to workers at boarding houses in Hamlet 11, Nghi Xa Commune, Nam Cam Industrial Park.

As one of the workers' families in the boarding house who received attention and sharing from the union on this occasion, Mr. Tran Dung was moved: "I myself have benefited from the free health check-up and free oil change program organized by the company's union, and now the union at a higher level has come to my house to visit and give gifts, I am truly grateful. In the midst of difficulties and shortages, the attention of the union has encouraged us a lot."

In this program, 100% of the grassroots trade unions conducted surveys to grasp the situation of workers renting accommodation, 10 units promptly organized visits, encouraged and gave gifts to workers in the boarding houses. The image of the green union shirt bringing joy to each boarding house, sharing with each situation really left good impressions in the hearts of workers.

As of June 2021, the total number of employees in the province was 331,377, of which 170,431 were in units with trade unions, and the total number of union members was 156,732. Currently, Nghe An Trade Union has 29 direct grassroots trade unions and 2,902 grassroots trade unions.
