Organizing the "Youth with Traffic Culture" Festival in 2015

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 25, at Vinh University, the National Traffic Safety Committee and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union coordinated with the People's Committee of Nghe An province to organize a launching ceremony in response to the 2015 National Youth and Traffic Culture Festival.

Attending the ceremony were comrades Nguyen Phi Long - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Nguyen Trong Thai - Chief of Office of the National Traffic Safety Committee. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Nghe An Traffic Safety Committee; representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors, along with all levels of the Youth Union and a large number of union members, youth, students and pupils in the province.

The 2015 National Youth and Traffic Culture Festival was held to continue implementing Resolution No. 88/NQ-CP, dated August 24, 2011 of the Government on “Strengthening the implementation of key solutions to ensure traffic safety and order”; Project “Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union participates in maintaining traffic safety and order, period 2012 - 2017”.

Comrade Nguyen Phi Long - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union affirmed that union members and young people must be the core force in implementing traffic culture.

Representatives of the Central Youth Union, the National Traffic Safety Committee and a number of provincial departments and branches attended the festival celebration.

The purpose of organizing the festival is to propagate and raise awareness of traffic law compliance, contributing to reducing traffic accidents among union members, youth and all classes of people. This is also an opportunity to orient young people to have good behavior, respect the law, contribute to building awareness of law compliance and cultural behavior when participating in traffic; do not encourage or participate in acts that disrupt traffic safety. At the same time, actively participate in volunteer activities, maintain traffic safety and urban order.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Thai - Chief of Office of the National Traffic Safety Committee emphasized that traffic accidents leave very serious consequences for individuals, families and society.

Speaking at the response ceremony for the “Youth with Traffic Culture 2015” Festival, comrades Nguyen Phi Long – Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Nguyen Trong Thai – Chief of Office of the National Traffic Safety Committee both affirmed: Traffic safety is an extremely urgent issue today, because the consequences of traffic accidents seriously affect each individual, family and the whole society. In recent times, the rate of union members and young people violating traffic safety is quite high, so each union member and young person needs to raise awareness, clearly define responsibilities and promote the spirit of vanguard and volunteerism of young people in ensuring traffic safety and order, forming a culture when participating in traffic.

Within the framework of the “Youth with Traffic Culture 2015” Festival, many activities also took place in a lively and practical manner, such as a parade to promote and encourage traffic safety and order; training students on safe and scientific driving; exhibition of books, newspapers and documents on traffic safety; organizing a contest “Students with Traffic Culture”, etc.
