On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day, the 71st anniversary of China's National Day and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, on September 29, General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping had a phone call.

During the phone call,General Secretary and President of ChinaXi Jinping once again congratulated Vietnam on the 75th anniversary of National Day; congratulated the great achievements the Vietnamese people have made over the past 75 years; expressed his belief that the Vietnamese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, will continue to gain even greater achievements in the cause of national construction and development; and wished the Communist Party of Vietnam to successfully organize Party congresses at all levels towards the 13th National Party Congress.
General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping stressed that the Chinese Party and State attach great importance to the traditional friendly neighborly relationship with Vietnam; affirmed that China will continue to actively support Vietnam in successfully fulfilling its tasks as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 term and the rotating ASEAN Chair in 2020; expressed willingness to work with senior leaders of Vietnam to strengthen strategic exchanges, further promote substantive and effective cooperation between the two countries in all fields, develop the friendly neighborly relationship between China and Vietnam more deeply, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries, contributing to maintaining peace and stability in the region and the world. General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping highly appreciated the results of Vietnam's prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, as well as the cooperation and coordination between the two countries in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic in recent times.

General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized that 2020 is an important milestone marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries; affirming that over the past 70 years, the relationshipVietnam - ChinaAlthough there have been ups and downs, friendship and cooperation have always been the main stream.
General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong said that since the beginning of the year, the two sides have conducted many exchange activities in many flexible forms, achieving good results, contributing to strengthening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China to continue to develop healthily and stably, in accordance with the aspirations and interests of the people of the two countries; suggested that the two sides promote substantive cooperation, increase exchanges at all levels and people-to-people exchanges, consolidate trust and mutual understanding, create a solid social foundation for bilateral relations; resolve existing issues, especially maritime issues, in the spirit of common perceptions of high-ranking leaders of the two parties and two countries, in accordance with international law, contributing to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for the development of each Party and each country./.
