General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong arrives in Beijing, begins official visit to China

After more than 3 hours of flight, at exactly 1:20 p.m. on October 30 (local time), the plane carrying General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation landed at Beijing International Airport, beginning an official visit to the People's Republic of China at the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.

Welcoming General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at Beijing airport were Comrade Liu Jianchao - Head of the Foreign Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China; along with a number of officials from the Foreign Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai, and representatives of the embassy staff warmly welcomed General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the delegation.

The official visit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the invitation of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping took place after the successful conclusion of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the new leadership was announced and Comrade Xi Jinping was re-elected as General Secretary for the third term.

The fact that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong became the first foreign leader to visit China shows the importance of the relationship between China and Vietnam as well as between the Communist Party of China and the Communist Party of Vietnam.

According to the program, tomorrow, October 31, the official welcoming ceremony for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will be solemnly held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, chaired by General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.

Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, the General Secretaries of the two countries will hold high-level talks and witness the signing of many important documents./.
