At the ceremony,General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trongpresented the Decision on retirement to 6 comrades: Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan - former member of the Politburo, former Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, former Chairwoman of the National Assembly; Tong Thi Phong - former member of the Politburo, former Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, former Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly; Nguyen Thien Nhan - former member of the Politburo, former Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, former Head of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation; General Ngo Xuan Lich - former member of the Politburo, former Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, former Minister of National Defense; Hoang Trung Hai - former member of the Politburo, former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, former Deputy Head of the Standing Office of the 13th National Party Congress Document Subcommittee; Nguyen Van Binh - former member of the Politburo, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Economic Commission.
On behalf of the Politburo and the Secretariat of the 13th Party Central Committee, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong congratulated, thanked and welcomed the members of the Politburo and the Secretariat of the 12th Party Central Committee who were not re-elected for the 13th term. During their working time, they have devoted all their enthusiasm, sense of responsibility, knowledge and experience to excellently completing the tasks assigned by the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Party Central Committee and the people.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized that during their working time, the comrades have made many contributions to the Central Committee, the Party, the State and served the people, leaving a good impression, gaining the people's trust, contributing to the country's overall achievements in all fields. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong hopes that although the comrades have retired, with their accumulated qualifications and experience, they will always follow, share good experiences, and continue to contribute valuable ideas so that the Party and the State can constantly improve, be more determined and make more efforts to build our country to develop more and more.
