President Assad accused the US of deliberately attacking the Syrian army. |
"The US Air Force attack was deliberate, since IS has fallen in the face of the cooperation of Syria, Russia and Iran. Also because "Jzhebhat en-Nusra" affiliated with "Al-Qaeda" has been defeated in many areas of Syria, and the US sought to weaken the position of the Syrian army. That is why they attacked Deir ez-Zor," Assad said.
The Syrian leader also held Washington responsible for the failure of the ceasefire and all failed political initiatives on the situation in Aleppo. Mr. Assad said that the US only requested a ceasefire when it was urgent for the rebels to regroup and provide them with additional support.
Politicians say Russia and the US cannot be allies right now in the fight against terrorism in Syria.
"The Russians build their policy on the basis of dignity, taking into account their interests. Demonstrating this dignity is consistent with international law and their fight against terrorism. For their part, the Americans build their policy on the basis of completely opposite values, including support for terrorism," he remarked.
