Ukrainian president regrets 'following US' narrative on Russian 'invasion'
(Baonghean.vn) - Ukrainian President Zelensky has deliberately supported rumors of an imminent Russian invasion, but the situation is out of control and is only harming Ukraine. This is the opinion of Time magazine author Simon Shuster posted on Twitter.
Referring to people close to the Ukrainian President, expert Shuster said that Mr. Zelensky regretted trying to exploit anti-Russian sentiment in the West for his own gain.
"A source close to Zelensky told me that the US first warned his team about a Russian invasion last fall and said the probability was 80%. The Ukrainians didn't believe it, but they went along with the Americans anyway, thinking they would get more help from Washington. Now they regret it, because the attention was so overwhelming," Shuster said.

In recent months, the United States and other NATO members have accused Russia of plotting an “invasion” of Ukraine. According to media reports, US President Joe Biden told European leaders that Russia is expected to “attack” its neighbor tomorrow, February 16. The Kremlin and the Russian Foreign Ministry have denied all accusations, stressing that Moscow is not involved in the internal conflict in Ukraine and has not violated any agreements.
The US, UK, Canada, France, Poland, Turkey, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania and Estonia are involved in supplying weapons worth billions of dollars to Ukraine. In addition, foreign military specialists continue to visit Ukraine. Moscow has repeatedly urged Western countries to stop pumping weapons into the region, as this could provoke Kiev into military adventures./.
