Regarding the opinions of voters at the place of residence, the total number of people on the preliminary list to be introduced as candidates at the 3rd Consultation Conference is 90 people, of which 42 people are introduced by agencies, organizations, and units (the introduced people) and 48 people are self-nominated. After the 3rd Consultation Conference of the City Fatherland Front Committee, 8 self-nominated people have submitted applications to withdraw from the preliminary list of candidates for the 14th National Assembly. The remaining people who were organized to get the opinions of voters at the place of residence are 82 people (42 people were introduced, 40 people were self-nominated).
Also according to Mr. Luu, regarding the consultation of voters at the workplace of self-nominated candidates, 28/40 self-nominated candidates declared that they had a workplace. However, only 17/28 agencies and units of self-nominated candidates had a workplace that organized a voter conference. As for 11/28 self-nominated candidates, after verification, the workplace of these 11 people refused to organize a consultation because in fact, the 11 self-nominated candidates mentioned above... did not work at the declared unit.
Regarding the results of the voter survey at the place of residence, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City recorded that 52/82 people had a vote of confidence with over 50% and the remaining 30/82 people had a vote of confidence below 50%. Meanwhile, the vote of confidence of voters at the workplace reached a rate of over 50% for 17/17 people.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nang, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, said that after the conference to collect opinions from voters at the place of residence of 82 candidates, 8 more candidates were introduced and submitted applications to withdraw their names from the candidate list despite having a voter trust rate of over 50% at their place of residence.
By April 16, 16 candidates for the National Assembly had withdrawn their names from the list, the remaining candidates on the preliminary list that had been consulted by voters were 74. Of these, 44/74 candidates had a vote of over 50% among voters at their place of residence and workplace. 30/74 candidates had a vote of less than 50% among voters at their place of residence and workplace. Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City Election Committee agreed to establish a list of 36 qualified candidates for the 14th National Assembly.
