Avoid chasing targets in selecting science and technology projects and topics
(Baonghean.vn) - This is the emphasis of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien - Chairman of the Science and Technology Council of Nghe An province at the meeting to listen and give advice on the content: Determining the list of science and technology tasks to be implemented in 2018 (phase 2) and phase 1 in 2019 held on the afternoon of July 17.

Of the 43 topics and projects ordered from departments, branches, and districts, the Department of Science and Technology has reviewed and submitted 19 topics and projects to the Provincial Science Council for implementation; 2 topics and projects are being considered and weighed.
At the meeting, on the basis of determining that the proposed S&T tasks must come from practical needs and be consistent with the socio-economic development of the province, the council members discussed and agreed on 19 topics and projects in the fields of agriculture, health, social sciences and humanities, and culture to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval to implement phase 2 (2018) and phase 1 (2019).
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien emphasized: Selecting annual science and technology projects and topics is a necessary and important task to promote science and technology activities in the area.
In order for these science and technology topics and projects to be widely applied in life, the selection of the list of science and technology projects and topics must be truly practical for the locality, avoiding chasing after targets.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien requested the Provincial Science Council to complete the re-definition of the topic name, scope of implementation of the topic and project. The topics and projects implemented must be truly necessary, highly practical, widely applicable and effective in life.
Regarding some topics and projects in the fields of culture, social sciences and humanities, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien requested that the topics need to consult the opinions and data of researchers and scientists to continue to complete the topics and projects.
