Awarding the Special Task Force for successfully solving 11 safe theft cases

(Baonghean.vn) - The investigation team arrested Cao Xuan Son while gambling with more than 300 million VND. At the provincial police investigation agency, Son confessed to committing 11 safe robberies in Nghe An and Ha Tinh, appropriating nearly 2.2 billion VND.

On August 17, the leaders of Nghe An Provincial Police awarded the 417D Project Team for their outstanding achievements in successfully solving 10 theft cases by breaking into safes at offices in Nghe An and Ha Tinh, causing losses of more than 2 billion VND.

Previously, around the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2017, in Vinh City, Yen Thanh, Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, and Hung Nguyen, there were consecutive cases of break-ins at offices, schools, and businesses at night to steal property, estimated at 2 billion VND.

The Criminal Police Department coordinated with professional units and district police to establish project 417D to conduct the investigation, determined to catch the perpetrator.

After a period of investigation, the Task Force found thatCao Xuan Son, residing in Block 3, Con Cuong Town, Con Cuong District, has emerged with unclear signs of time and finances, has 2 previous convictions for property theft, and is often present at gambling dens.

Consolidating the evidence, on July 22, 2017, the Investigation Committee arrested Cao Xuan Son while he was gambling in Con Cuong district with more than 300 million VND in gambling money.

Son confessed that since November 2015, he had committed 11 safe robberies in Nghe An and Ha Tinh, appropriating nearly 2.2 billion VND.

At the award ceremony, leaders of Nghe An Provincial Police highly appreciated the results of the investigation of Department PC45, Dien Chau District Police and related units and requested the related forces to complete the dossier to bring the subject to trial before the law./.
