Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Khanh Hai signed Official Dispatch No. 1632/CD-BVHTTDL to the Heads of Central Committees, Ministries, Branches and Organizations; Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities requesting the implementation of a number of rituals during the days of the National Funeral of General Le Duc Anh according to Decree No. 105/2012/ND-CP dated December 17, 2012 of the Government on organizing funerals for cadres, civil servants and public employees.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests that agencies and offices nationwide and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad fly the flag at half-mast during the two-day State Funeral of General Le Duc Anh (May 3 and 4, 2019).
The funeral service for General Le Duc Anh will start from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Friday) May 3 at the National Funeral Home, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi. At the same time, the funeral service and memorial service for General Le Duc Anh will take place at the Thong Nhat Hall (Ho Chi Minh City) and the Hall of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province. Delegations will only bring mourning bands, not wreaths.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requested central departments, ministries, branches, mass organizations, state administrative and public service agencies to stop or postpone organizing welcoming events, art programs, sports competitions and other entertainment activities on May 3-4.
The People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities direct and guide organizations, individuals, and entertainment establishments to stop or postpone organizing art programs, sports competitions, and other entertainment activities in the area during the two days of National Mourning./.
