One of the important contents presented is the proposal to shorten the term of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels, term 2021 - 2026.
According to the report presented by Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh: The National Assembly Standing Committee proposed to shorten the term of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels by 3 months, ending in early April 2026 instead of July 2026.

The proposal to shorten the term of the National Assembly and People's Councils was made based on the Party's policy and practical requirements showing that it is necessary to shorten the period between the National Party Congress and the first session of the new National Assembly and People's Councils in order to promptly complete high-level personnel, assign new-term Party Committee members to ensure consistency, comprehensiveness, continuous stability, and connection of key cadres in Party, State, Government, Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations; at the same time, Party Committees at all levels in the new term promptly implement the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and Party Congresses at all levels.

Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh presented a report on deciding the election date for the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
