After 24 hours without recording any new Covid-19 cases, 14 patients will be announced cured
The 6 a.m. news on April 17 of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control said that as of this morning, the number of Covid-19 cases in our country is still 268.
Thus, in the past 24 hours, no new cases have been recorded. It is expected that today, 14 patients will be announced to be cured.
1. Total number of cases:268 cases, including:
- 160 people from abroad, accounting for 59.7%;
- 108 people infected in the community, accounting for 40.3%.
2. Number of new cases from 6:00 p.m. April 16 to 6:00 a.m. April 17: 0 cases
3. Number of people in quarantine:Total number of people in close contact and entering from epidemic areas being monitored for health (quarantined): 73,758, of which:
- Concentrated isolation at hospital: 369;
- Centralized quarantine at other facilities: 11,628;
- Isolated at home or place of residence: 61,761.

- On April 16, 06 patients were announced to be cured at Quang Ninh Hospital No. 2, Ha Nam Provincial General Hospital and Ninh Binh Provincial General Hospital.
- It is expected that today (April 17) 14 patients will be announced to be cured at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
- Treatment status of severe cases:
· Patient 19 responded well, could communicate when asked, had good awareness of space, time, and self, no localized paralysis, no clinical edema, and had no fever on April 16.
· Patient 161 is on mechanical ventilation via endotracheal tube, bilateral ventilation is clear, continue to let the patient practice breathing, muscle strength is still weak, blood pressure is 110/60mmHg, when asked, the patient has slow communication, left hemiplegia, the patient still has fever that fluctuates during the day. Inflammation level tends to decrease slightly during the day, liver enzymes tend to decrease.
· Patient 91 has no fever, is on a ventilator, has spontaneous breathing, no nose or mouth bleeding, blood clotting disorder control (monitoring HIT syndrome) is stable, chest X-ray shows no worsening lesions.
- Number of cases with negative SARS-CoV-2 test results once: 14 cases.
- Number of cases with two negative SARS-CoV-2 test results: 19 cases.
Add Ha Giang to the group of provinces and cities at risk:
- High-risk local groups (12): Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Ninh Binh, Ha Tinh, Quang Nam, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Tay Ninh.
These localities continue to focus on leading and directing the implementation of Prime Minister's Directive 16/CT-TTg until April 22 or 30, 2020 and may consider extending it depending on the epidemic situation in the area; at the same time, pay attention to removing difficulties, promoting production activities, building infrastructure, and ensuring the circulation of goods.
- Local groups at risk (16): Hai Phong, Can Tho, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Nghe An, Thua Thien Hue, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Kien Giang, Soc Trang, An Giang, Dong Thap, Ha Giang.
These localities need to strictly implement measures according to Directive No. 16/CT-TTg until April 22, 2020 and will make adjustments on April 22 depending on the development of the epidemic.
- The low-risk group includes the remaining 35 provinces. Localities are required to continue implementing Directive 15/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister.
