China urges US not to assess nuclear arsenal using satellite images
(Baonghean.vn) - The US's efforts to learn about China's nuclear arsenal through satellite images are not a serious matter, Director of the Chinese Foreign Ministry's Arms Control Department Fu Tong announced at a press conference on January 4.
“Regarding the bunker issue, I have also read information about this, but there are conflicting messages, some say this is a missile bunker, others say this is a wind generator. I am not in a position to confirm any information. But I can say that calculating the size of China's nuclear force based on these images is not a serious matter," said diplomat Pho Thong.

Last year, several US media outlets reported that China was building at least three deployment sites.intercontinental ballistic missilesFirst, the Washington Post, citing US experts, reported that the People's Republic of China has begun building more than 100 intercontinental ballistic missile launchers near Yumen, Gansu Province.
The New York Times then reported, citing experts, that China had begun building 110 intercontinental ballistic missile silos in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The Washington Times claimed a third site, believed to be in western China, would house more than 100 new Dongfeng 41 missiles. Intelligence reports concluded that China was building missile silos based on satellite imagery taken in 2021, according to the Washington Times.
According to US press, US officials said there are about 350-400 long-range nuclear missiles deployed at these three missile bases.
For its part, the People's Daily, citing Chinese military experts, reported that US analysts had mistaken the wind power generator platform for an intercontinental ballistic missile silo./.
