On the afternoon of April 1, comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negative Practices, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform surveyed key traffic routes in Western Nghe An; visited and worked at Muong Long commune, Ky Son district.
Joining the working delegation, leaders of Nghe An province were: Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Ho Le Ngoc - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee; Pham Trong Hoang - Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office. Also attending were comrade Phung Thanh Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; and leaders of Ky Son district.

After meeting with key leaders of 11 districts and towns in Western Nghe An and former leaders of 6 districts in the Northwest region of the province; handing over funds to support the construction and repair of houses for the poor in 11 mountainous districts and towns of Nghe An province in Nghia Dan district, comrade Phan Dinh Trac and the working delegation surveyed the border belt road from Que Phong district to Muong Long commune, Ky Son district, in the afternoon of the same day.

The Western Nghe An route passing through the three border districts of Que Phong, Tuong Duong and Ky Son is a key project in the Project "Socio-economic development of the Western Nghe An province to 2020" which was included by the Prime Minister in the priority list of necessary investment to create a synchronous traffic network.
Since its completion, the border belt road through Nghe An province has not only played a strategic role in the socio-economic development of the Western region, improving the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities; but also played an important role in ensuring national defense and security, contributing to maintaining the country's border sovereignty and security.

Arriving at the remote mountainous commune of Muong Long (Ky Son), Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee Phan Dinh Trac and the working delegation offered flowers and incense at the Memorial House and burned incense to pay tribute to martyrs who died in the fight against bandits.
Here, in the early morning of June 24, 1964, a group of dozens of bandits with AK guns and grenades raided the commune until 7 p.m., including the Nursery Farm of Nghe An Department of Agriculture, killing 27 workers, soldiers, laborers, medical staff and teachers; those who fell were recognized as martyrs.
Most of the martyrs who died in Muong Long on June 24, 1964 were from the lowlands who came to work, so when peace was restored, their families exhumed their remains and brought them back to their hometowns for burial. Currently, there are 13 graves in the cemetery.

Also in Muong Long commune, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee Phan Dinh Trac directly met, discussed, talked and presented support plaques for building houses to 10 poor households and gave gifts to 13 prestigious village elders.
Muong Long commune has an area of over 142 km2with more than 1,000 households, nearly 5,000 people, mainly Mong ethnic people living in 13 villages.
As a remote area, people's lives are still difficult. In recent years, together with the grassroots political system, prestigious village elders have promoted the "nucleus" role of propaganda and mobilization for people to eliminate the mindset of waiting and relying on others, proactively develop the economy, eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and build new rural areas.

Talking with poor households, prestigious people and officials of Muong Long commune, comrade Phan Dinh Trac expressed his joy at returning to visit officials and people of the commune, witnessing the progress and innovation in people's lives as well as infrastructure.
Recalling the image of people from Muong Long commune going to Laos to buy skinny buffaloes and cows to fatten and then sell them downstream, the Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee hopes that people will continue to promote and strive more to develop the economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.

Also in Muong Long commune, comrade Phan Dinh Trac and the working delegation visited the Center for Conservation and Development of Medicinal Materials under TH Group - a component of the overall project to conserve and develop high-quality medicinal materials associated with sustainable development.
Standing at an altitude of 1,785m above sea level, in a valley surrounded by mountain peaks with an altitude of 1,200 - 2,700m belonging to the Truong Son range, covered in clouds all year round, near the Vietnam - Laos border, with a subtropical climate, cool in the summer, not affected by the Lao wind, likened to "Da Lat of the scorching Central region", Muong Long Center for Conservation and Development of Medicinal Herbs is a place to preserve, propagate precious medicinal herbs and develop the economy with medicinal plants under the forest canopy.

Muong Long Center for Conservation and Development of Medicinal Herbs has propagated and is planting thousands of seven-leaf flower plants, Panax notoginseng, Puxailaileng ginseng, Thach Hoc orchid, Panax notoginseng, Codonopsis pilosula, yellow flower tea, etc. in Muong Long commune, Na Ngoi commune, Ky Son district.
